Rafael Nadal got his first title of the year against the world number one, Roger Federer, imposed for the fourth consecutive year in the finals of Monte Carlo, by a double 7-5 in one hour and 44 minutes.

After two late missed against Russians, in Chennai face Mikhail Youzhny and Nikolay Davidenko in Miami before, Nadal endorsed its global hegemony on clay with a solid victory over the best tennis player in the world that gave him the twenty-fourth title of his career.
