Balearic tennis player Rafael Nadal on Monday won the Laureus World Sports Awards for best male athlete of the year and thus was rewarded for his spectacular temporada2010, in which he won Roland Garros, Wimbledon and U.S. Open, allowed to complete the Grand Slam, and recover world number one.
Nadal happens when Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt as the best international athlete after winning this category for the players of FC Barcelona Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi, basketball player Kobe Bryant Los Angeles Lakers, the German Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel and Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao.
The Spanish tennis player received this award in person in the auditorium of the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, in the eleventh edition Laureus Awards.
